Rapper Nicki Minaj tells Paper magazineshe didn’t set out to be a gay-positive presence in hip-hop, but that’s just what happened — and she wouldn’t have it any other way. “I didn’t set out to do that,” she says. “I just like to put a spotlight on the people who support me, and it just so happens, you know, that the gay community has supported me — more than I ever could have imagined.” Minaj says she considers her schooling at LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts (the Fame school) to be what opened her eyes to diversity and acceptance at an early age. “I saw gay kids, I saw white kids, I saw grunge and pink hair and piercings,” she says. “I think, because of that, I didn’t put limits on myself or what I was going to put in my raps.

Earlier today, the network announced that the Young Money raptress would be performing during the pre-show broadcast, and now, the Best New Artist nominee is getting her swerve on in a new promo clip for the ceremony. Set to the tune of her hit “Your Love,” a young Nicki poses in the mirror, dreaming of one day ruling rap. But as the clip progresses, Minaj is shown dolled up like a classic ’50s debutante and zooms into the present as she hops on a motorcycle and speeds through the California streets. “Ever since she was little, she dreamed of dominating the world of rap,” says the announcer. “Now the world—and every man in it—is beneath her stilettos.” Debuting tonight on MTV’s 10 spot, the promo clip is an early taste of what Minaj will bring during her performance at the pre-show event, airing on Sunday, Sept

Nothing can stop true love, and in the case of Jeff Miranda, he is not going to let a simple Tweet get in his way. Snooki’s boyfriend is now claiming that he’s being blocked from seeing his true love. Miranda proposed to Snooki on the cover of Steppin’ Out magazine, which was reported exclusively on RadarOnline.com on Monday. But the pint-sized Jersey Shore star turned him down via Twitter, and now Miranda claims the producers of the show are warning him to stop trying to contact Snooki.
